COMMUNITY. CHARACTER. CLIMBING.
Mission Statement:
Boulders Climbing Team prioritizes the emotional and physical well-being of our athletes above all other metrics and strives to develop a lifelong healthy enjoyment of climbing, by fostering both casual and competitive participation.
Our climbing team practices in four program groups: Bedrock, Intermediate, Advanced, and Competitive. Practice teams are encouraged to attend a bouldering and a rope climbing competition during the season, though attendance is not required. Competitive Team athletes are training specifically for success in these events and are required to attend two or more USAC competitions per season.
BCT programs roster in the Fall. Tryouts take place in late August. There are unofficial rostering opportunities, both throughout the season and for our summer off-season that starts in late June.
Boulders unequivocally supports trans and nonbinary climbers. Trans and nonbinary climbers of all ages belong in the climbing community, and at all levels of competition in ways that support their individual identity and protect their physical, social, and emotional safety.

Competition Information for Base Teams (Bedrock, Intermediate, Advanced)
Athletes on our base teams are encouraged to go to one USAC Competition per season. This allows Base Team athletes to try out a competition to see if Competition Team is something they would like to work towards. Usually, the closest USAC events take place at the Adventure Rock Gyms in the Milwaukee area.
Supplemental Training/ Individual Training Plans
Individual training plans allow climbers to train independently. Each Competitive Team athlete will have the opportunity to receive one ITP per season (one for bouldering, one for ropes), which is included in the cost of the Comp Team. However, athletes are not required to have an ITP. Questions about Competitive Team ITPs can be sent to our Programs Coordinator, Erin Hutchison. If climbers who are not on the Comp team are interested in an ITP, please reach out to your Lead coach.
